About the firm

Claims lawyers in Glasgow who take the time to listen

We sit between the slow, formal law firm and the high-pressure claims company: Scottish lawyers who explain things clearly and treat you as a person, not a case number.

How we work

Your claim matters. So do you.

After a serious accident, a diagnosis of industrial hearing loss or an injury in service, most people are not only looking for money. They want someone to acknowledge what happened, and the means to get their life back on track.

Traditional firms can feel distant and formal. Claims management companies can treat people as leads to be passed on. Kinetic Lawyers was set up to offer something better: Scottish claims lawyers who listen, explain your options plainly and keep you informed.

  • Scots law, start to finish

We deal only with claims under Scots law, in the sheriff courts (including the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court) and the Court of Session.

  • You speak to a lawyer

There is no call centre or claims broker in the middle. A qualified lawyer looks at your enquiry and stays with your case.

  • Plain terms on fees

We explain what you would pay, and when, before you agree to anything. No hidden administration charges.

Two things worth knowing

No win, no fee in Scotland

In Scotland, "no win, no fee" is usually set up as a success fee (speculative fee) agreement. If the claim is not successful, you do not pay us a fee. If it succeeds, our fee is a share of the compensation, and for personal injury claims that share is capped by law.

Under qualified one-way costs shifting, people bringing personal injury claims are generally protected from paying the other side's legal expenses if the claim fails. We will set out the terms in writing before you decide.

Time limits

Most personal injury claims in Scotland must be raised in court within three years of the accident, or within three years of when you first knew (or reasonably could have known) that your injury was linked to it. That later date often matters in hearing loss and other industrial disease claims.

For children, the three years usually starts at age 16. The court can sometimes allow a late claim, but it is not something to rely on, so it is best to get advice early.
